Sky View Observatory

Sky View Observatory is the tallest building in the Pacific Northwest at 902 feet, offering stunning views of Seattle and its surrounding areas.

Sky View Observatory at Columbia Tower was an existing observatory since 1985. In 2017, Legends was awarded the business to take over operations and renew the experience, reestablishing the site as one of the top attractions in Seattle. In order to capitalize on the unparalleled view of the beautiful Seattle skyline, Legends tasked EDGE Experiential to incorporate an innovative technology approach to further enhance the guest experience.

Relying on previous experience, EDGE realized guests would more fully engage in the experience if they had a guide as they toured the observatory. Visiting as a local, guests were able to pinpoint views and landmarks from Mt. Rainier to Mt. Baker, Safeco Field to the Space Needle, however, visiting guests not from Seattle Metro or Washington State didn't have a guide to help educate them on Seattle.

EDGE Experiential delivered a solution that offered guests an innovative, interactive tour guide experience, selecting touchscreen kiosks strategically placed throughout the entire observatory.

EDGE created content that would interest both locals and visitors as they clicked to learn more about Seattleā€™s landmarks and create their own personalized tour. Additionally, knowing the importance of a first impression, we enhanced the guest entry and elevator experience.

As guests ascend nearly 1,000 feet above ground, video content embedded in the elevator walls display a time lapse to showcase how Mount Rainier, the highest mountain of the Cascade Range of the Pacific Northwest and the highest mountain the U.S. state of Washington, was formed over the millennia.
